Golf Rules? Whatever!
Recently my company held its annual golfing tournament and everybody was invited to play. There was a trophy at stake and since the scope of my expertise was miniature golf I decided to get serious and look up the rules of the game. The PGA lists 28 golf rules on PGA.com with at least 5 sub points beneath each one. This was a little more than I had hoped would be involved in this. I was hoping the rules would be a little more user friendly such as what I should wear and how many times I had to try to hit the ball before I was out and could retire myself next to the beverage cart.
I decided to ask a few of the guys who said they played golf what I should expect and got the old stand by that it takes a lot of balls to play. Clever boys I work with.
The day of the big tournament came and I was dismayed to see that I missed the fashion boat by not wearing plaid pants and my shoes were totally inappropriate but they were stylish and the trend for spring so I figured that made up for not being practical.
Do not ask me how my team won the trophy but we did. We not only had the best time over everbody else but on top of it all I do not think we worried one bit about those pesky golf rules. I have decided that the most important golf rule is to go out and have a good time and do not worry about the rest!
