There is much to be said for tennis skirts. I have to start out by wondering how it all began. From the history I have been able to find women used to play tennis in dresses because in the 1800
'’s pants were not appropriate for ladies. The skirts were not the worst of it they had to wear corsets under long sleeved collared shirts with ties!

I cannot imagine playing such a rigorous game such as tennis dressed up in such a costume it had to make things so much more difficult! Over time the corsets disappeared and the hem lines went up and practicality set in with the invention of the tennis skirt! A built in set of shorts with the look of a feminine skirt!

Some tennis players opt to wear shorts but overall the tennis skirt has kept its popularity throughout the years and can seen even off the courts as a status symbol. Aside from being practical it is after all sexy.

Every major sports clothing manufacturer has a full line of tennis wear with its tennis skirts leading the fashion statements! Men’s tennis wear is now trying to come up with its own sexy little fashion changes to keep up with the attention the ladies seem to grab on the court with their style.
